Recently, on June 4, Ordinals protocol was updated to a new version 0.6.0. The new solution was made in order to fix the issue of invalid inscriptions. This is good news since there are around 71 thousand cursed inscriptions on the network. On GitHub there is a detailed description of this update.

What does the term “cursed inscriptions'' mean? It describes those ordinals that were created with mistakes in operation codes. Because of that, they turned out to be unrecognizable. Some users made them accidentally, some on purpose, and now the amount of bed inscriptions is quite big.

Month ago, the founder of the protocol, Casey Rodarmore, started to study this problem. He wanted to fix the issue. As a result of his efforts, the new solution was born. The idea behind it is simple. The new patch sets a new block activation height for inscriptions in order to fix them.

Now “cursed” inscriptions have a chance to become “blessed”. As soon as all resources where the "ordinals" are presented, will be upgraded to the new version, cursed inscriptions will become tradable. This will add more than 70 thousand tokens on the market, which is great news, since, as we already wrote, ordinals may accelerate Bitcoin development.
