According to the graphics on CoinMarketCap, we can notice that the highest price of OP was fixed in the very beginning of the project’s path. A bit later, it drastically went down to $1.44 and stayed almost the same for some time. Then, the value went up to $1.92 on June 1. After that, it hasn’t changed much and faced some smaller ups and downs during the year.

Some of the community members say that the value decrease was caused by the Airdrop which Optimism has launched. It’s hard to say whether it’s true or not, but the actual crypto market situation affects all the currencies available on crypto exchanges.
