On April 17, Elon Musk launched a startup called X.AI. The company received registration in Nevada last month. Earlier, the Financial Times reported that Elon Musk purchased thousands of powerful Nvidia GPUs, which are necessary to create a language model that allows artificial intelligence to process huge amounts of data and generate text and images. This new startup answers the question why Musk has bought these video cards – most likely, they will be used in it.

Elon Musk saw the potential of chatbots even before they became mainstream. The businessman invested $100 million in early funding for OpenAI. To say that the company's projects have been successful is to say nothing: already in 2020, the GPT-3 language model has made a boom. And recently, all the attention of humanity has been focused on ChatGPT.

New startup will be working on TruthGPT – the application is declared as the most transparent chatbot. Musk talked about the project in an interview with Fox News. According to him, it will be an alternative to ChatGPT, but more open and truthful: “an AI that cares about understanding the universe.”

Also, Musk did not miss the opportunity to cast stones at the ChatGPT developers. The billionaire believes that the application was taught to lie and hide information. Elon Musk said that ChatGPT is a fully corporate product of Microsoft and Google and he did not expect that when he agreed to finance OpenAI.

In the interview, Musk also noted that AI could eventually destroy our civilization. This is not the first time he has made such a statement. The head of Twitter has signed an open letter calling for a six-month pause in the development of new versions of AI-based software. But he still decided to make its own AI chatbot – a man of many talents.
