The non-profit organization Human Rights Foundation (HRF) has officially declared the allocation of grants from the Bitcoin Development Fund, amounting to $505,000. These funds have been specifically designated to bolster developers and educational initiatives globally, with a particular focus on such regions as Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East.

As stated by HRF representatives, fifteen selected organizations and developers have been awarded scholarships to facilitate their participation in the Crypto World. Noteworthy projects set to receive financial backing include developers Furszy and Jarol Rodriguez for their contributions to Bitcoin Core, as well as an online internship program, the Summer of Bitcoin, designed to acquaint students with the BTC ecosystem.

Furthermore, Vinteum company will receive funding to enhance its open-source endeavors, and user Gee Deer will be granted resources for his work in stablecoin creation and contributions to Bitcoin Core. Financial support will also be extended to the Kawaakibi Foundation for the establishment of a Bitcoin hub and to developer Justin Mellor for his efforts on the Fedimint project. Five additional developers and organizations, including Bitcoin Ekasi and La Librería de Satoshi, will each be allocated $25,000.

In addition to these grants, HRF will distribute three separate grants of $10,000 each to facilitate attendance at conferences dedicated to blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. These scholarships are specifically aimed at bolstering Bitcoin developers hailing from countries with complex political situations. Moreover, in July 2023, the organization launched a program aimed at identifying deficiencies in the Bitcoin protocol, committing a total of 20 BTC to this initiative.
