The world is rapidly evolving, developing technologies give everyone more opportunities. However, it is still a common misconception that cryptocurrency is for men only. All it takes to understand that it is not true is to open a list of team members of almost every crypto service. It may come as a surprise, but there are a lot of women.

The 2018 report from ‘Diversity in Blockchain’ showed that all blockchain based companies started between 2012 and 2017 had female co-founders and chief officers. For example, the Vice President of Coinbase is Emilie Choi. Digital Asset’s CFO and COO is Emnet Rios, and the company’s Chief Client Experience Officer is Kelly Mathieson. Paxos’ VP of Marketing is also a woman, Dorothy Chang. One of the Bancor co-founders is also a lady, Galia Benartzi.

Let’s take a look at the statistics. According to Coin Dance, the percentage of women involved in crypto is growing. On the graph below we can see that the proportion of women now is 14.23%. And only a year ago this number was 12.28%.

The eToro trading platform reports that the number of women involved in crypto investment is growing. Moreover, recently women have been signing up faster than men. According to the information from this service, 15% of Bitcoin investors and 12% of Ethereum investors are women. These percentages may seem not very high, however, we can see a positive dynamic.

The crypto community is being very supportive of the trend. There is an account on Twitter @womanincrypto that provides knowledge and guidance for women involved in crypto. Also, there is a hashtag #womanincrypto that unites everything connected to a topic.

Let’s take a look at some of the latest tweets:
